Ditch the stiff poses and capture the realness of pregnancy with a photo session that’s all about you.
Encourage your partner to grab a drink, relax, and let the good times roll. Specializing in activity-based photography, I’m here to help you find that perfect vibe that resonates with what you adore. It’s not just about the photos—it’s about celebrating your journey into parenthood in the most authentic way possible.
I am a big believer in planning out your shoot early especially for things like clothing so that you are not feeling unprepared or stressed when we get to shoot day. I really love the planning stage & offer a session planning call where we can talk through and plan out all the details for your shoot. This can include styling, locations, shoot styles, activities & creative ideas.
Step one: We plan it.
I spend some time at the start of the session getting to know everyone, we will go for a walk & explore the location. During the "getting comfortable" stage, I tend to give more direction. Once you are comfortable, I will let you go on your own and let your family lead the session. If I’m not saying a thing, that's because what I am seeing is amazing. Often it's in those moments following a prompt where the magic happens. The best thing you can do during your session is move your focus away from everyone looking perfect. Focus on being present in this moment together, focus on your kids or partner, be silly together and have those real laughs.
Step two: We shoot & have fun!
I know the excitement that can be felt following the session so I aim to get sneak peeks to you within a week.
Then I will start culling and preparing a selection gallery where you get to choose all of your faves! Grab the tissues and relive your session, through my eyes.
Upgrades are available during the selection process.
Step three: Post-Production

When's the best time to schedule my maternity session?
Between 32-37 weeks is usually ideal. You'll have a beautiful bump to show off, but you'll still be comfy enough to move around.
What is involved in your activity based shoots?
These sessions are all about capturing your family in action, doing what you love. Whether it's an activity you do on the regular or a quirky creative thing that you love, I'll be there to document it. I am full of ideas when it comes to creating the best experience to suit what you love. I will run through a few options with you as we jump into planning but if you have any creative ideas from the get go.. I would love to hear them.
Can my partner and/or kids be in the photos?
Of course! I really enjoy capturing a variety of shots that include the whole family, pictures with your partner, and those precious moments when siblings interact with your baby bump. It makes the session all the more special.
What should I wear for the maternity shoot?
Flowy dresses are the go, but a simple pair of jeans with a bralette or bathers —all work great if you want to show some skin. The key is to feel like yourself! I've got a client wardrobe with over 20 gorgeous dresses you're welcome to choose from.
Where do you usually shoot?
It's your call! Whether it's your home, a scenic outdoor location, or somewhere meaningful to you, I'm up for it.
For the "Bump + Glow" package, there are set locations, but you can change that up for a small fee. With the "Full Bloom" package, travel is already included, so you're free to pick your dream spot. If you're looking for inspiration, I've got a killer list of tried-and-loved locations you can check out here.
Do you provide props or should I bring my own?
If you've got sentimental or cute props you'd like to include, go for it! Like some flowers or baby's first scan picture. Otherwise, I don't usually provide any props for the session other than a blanket to sit on if I think we will need it.
How long is the session?
Usually 40 minutes to an hour. It’s laid-back and relaxed—no rush!
Will you help with posing?
Absolutely, I'll guide you through poses that feel natural and look amazing.
How many photos will I get to view in my selection gallery?
Expect to view around 45-60 photos, depending on the package you choose. Upgrades are available during the selection process.
How soon should I book?
The earlier the better, especially if you have specific dates in mind. A month or two in advance is usually good.
What's the turnaround for getting my photos?
I aim to have your photos ready for you in 3 weeks.
"Rhiannan did both maternity and newborn shoots for us. Both my partner and I consider ourselves awkward in front of a camera but Rhiannan was great at making us feel comfortable and relaxed.
We are so happy with our photos. She was knowledgeable in regards to locations and outfits and was very easy to work with.
Do yourself a favour and book your photos through Perth lifestyle photography!"
"Could not recommend Perth Lifestyle Photography more!
I’ve had so many photo shoots now and I will keep coming back for more! My daughter is painfully shy but you can’t even tell in the photos because everything was so relaxed and natural.
My most favourite photos of all time are the ones I’ve had through Perth Lifestyle Photography! You will not regret choosing them! "
"Absolutely couldn’t recommend Rhiannan any higher. We had her booked for a newborn shoot and our baby girl made an arrival a lot earlier then expected. Rhiannan was happy to re schedule a number of times without any hesitation due to a nicu stay and made the whole process so easy and seamless.
During the shoot Rhiannan ensured that we didn’t feel awkward in any of the photos. Thank you so much for our amazing photos they turned out far better then I could have ever expected, they are something we will treasure forever"
"I have had the pleasure of Rhiannan photographing our family on two occasions now. Both times I have been delighted with the images that have been captured.
Rhiannan is both friendly and professional and she is able to bring out the best in both adults and children alike. She makes you feel relaxed and comfortable. Our children have always warmed to her instantly and this has resulted in precious memories captured."
I have loved photography for as long as I can remember. This could have stemmed from my mum who was always capturing photos of me as a child. She would document everything and has albums full of photos from when we were young. My family was really big on recording even the smallest of things and it has been amazing to look back on these in my adult years. There is something so special about the story that gets retold of my parents and the way they once were.
If there is one thing I could share with you about what this work means to me it is this… These aren’t just photos to me.
They are so much more.
They are moments captured in time, moments that one day your children will be looking back on remembering the story that they once lived with you and it will bring something into their hearts, just like it did for me.
