How We Make Photo Magic Happen
There are a few factors we need to consider when it comes to your newborn session, like the amount of natural light in each room and which colours to wear to compliment your home. During the session planning call, I will answer any questions you may have and we will finalise all those details for your session.
If your home is too dark for photos, I may recommend a studio home or an on-location shoot.
Session planning call
Step one: We plan it.
I spend some time at the start of the session getting to know everyone. If you have children, I will spend some time getting them to show me around your home. I will then help with styling and get you to feed your baby.
I will look around the home and find areas that are unique or interesting. Anything that shows personality and who you are as a family. We may do a simple everyday activity that will encourage natural organic moments to occur.
I love to include pets if you have any.
In-home shoots usually start at 10am for the best light.
Step two: We shoot!
I know the excitement that can be felt following the session so I aim to get a sneak peek to you within a week.
Then I will start culling and preparing your gallery, ready for download!

When is the best time to schedule a newborn session?
I recommend between 7-21 days old. The earlier we do it, often the easier newborns are to capture. While they are still sleeping little koalas. The only 'wrong time' is never. If you have missed the 21 day window but still want a session like this please reach out. Documenting these years is so priceless.
How long does a newborn session take?
Typically around 90 minutes. This gives us plenty of time to capture those natural moments as they unfold. The duration can vary a bit—some sessions might be quicker, while others could take a bit longer, especially when factoring in feedings and diaper changes.
Can siblings and parents be in the photos?
Absolutely! Newborn sessions are all about family. I really enjoy capturing moments between parents and siblings as they welcome the newest member of the clan.
Where do the sessions take place?
Most often, I do newborn sessions right at your home, and since I'm based South of the River, I'm pretty flexible location-wise. For in-home sessions North of the River, there may be a small fee for travel. I also offer relaxed and unposed studio lifestyle sessions for newborns, and the studio is located in Booragoon.
Do I need to provide props or outfits for the baby?
You're welcome to use any personal items, but I'll also bring a selection of soft blankets, wraps, and knit outfits to choose from.
How should we prepare for the session?
Keep things simple. A well-fed baby is a happy baby, so try to feed just before the session. Also, have a few extra bottles and diapers handy.
What happens if our baby is fussy?
No worries, babies have their moments. I'm super patient and will make sure we give your little one all the breaks they need.
How many photos will we receive in our selection gallery?
Depending on the package, you'll get between 60-80 images to choose from. Upgrades are available during the selection process.
Do you offer photo albums?
Yep, I offer a range of additional products including beautiful keepsake albums these range from $250-$350.
What's the turnaround time?
You can expect your photos in about 2-3 weeks.

I have loved photography for as long as I can remember. This could have stemmed from my mum who was always capturing photos of me as a child. She would document everything and has albums full of photos from when we were young. My family was really big on recording even the smallest of things and it has been amazing to look back on these in my adult years. There is something so special about the story that gets retold of my parents and the way they once were.
If there is one thing I could share with you about what this work means to me it is this… These aren’t just photos to me.
They are so much more.
